Acres of Mercy is building and equipping its first community learning center/school to open up education to 200 vulnerable children yearly that come from families in need within and around Nguluni, Kenya; Provide quality learning environment and resources; We will improve students' learning environment by building/completing 5 new classes; Better Sanitation and a Library; Provide coaching & mentoring to teachers to deliver learning outcomes; Provide quality early childhood learning experiences

Challenge

According to The World Bank, millions of children are in school but not learning. Without learning, education will fail to deliver on its promise to eliminate extreme poverty and create shared opportunity and prosperity for all. Even after several years in school, millions of children cannot read, write or do basic math. Acres of Mercy is working to deliver quality education and learning in Nguluni, Kenya where it targets to provide learning opportunities to 200 children from poverty annually

Long-Term Impact

Our interventions in education will enable young people be in school and learn in ways that will ensure they transition into employment or create employment, thus ensuring better earnings, good health, and a life without poverty. For our communities, this will spur innovation, create new industries, strengthen institutions, and foster social cohesion and integrity. The community will take a pronounced role in caring, nurturing and protecting its biggest source of wealth and development- children
