We're raising funds to fulfil Advantage Africa's strategic goal of better lives for the most vulnerable children and adults in East Africa. Your support will help vulnerable people to overcome poverty in ways that last. It will enable our partner organisations to provide essential services and support vulnerable people to advocate for change that releases them from poverty. You will also be helping Advantage Africa to become a more sustainable organisation that's changing lives - for good.

Challenge

Many millions of people in East Africa continue to live in chronic poverty, excluded from the benefits of economic growth. Among the most vulnerable people of all are those affected by disability (including albinism) and HIV, who are often disregarded, stigmatised and denied their basic human rights so that they lack self-worth, opportunity and hope. Recent COVID-19 lockdowns have affected such people disproportionately and left many families without livelihoods, hungry, and in despair.

Long-Term Impact

Your support will have an immense long-term impact: it will enable Advantage Africa's Programme Managers to work alongside our local partner organisations, building their skills and capacity to meet the needs of vulnerable people and tackle discrimination, exploitation and abuse. It will fund education and advocacy to change attitudes, policies and practices that keep people at risk and in poverty. Finally, it will ensure Advantage Africa's life-changing work is sustained long into the future.
