Join POP-UP Festival in brightening the lives of 3mil kids globally. Since COVID-19, children suffer increasing mental health issues: anxiety, loneliness, isolation. POP-UP is a free event to build emotional intelligence & mental health through play based activities, adaptable to any setting. The digital kit teaches empathy, friendship, optimism, goal setting & emotional literacy, growing lifelong skills. When kids learn to identify & share feelings they have the power to change the future

Challenge

Children's emotional distress is getting worse: bullying, self-esteem, anxiety, etc. According to the WHO, it's urgent to learn new emotional skills: "Children must have a positive sense of identity, the ability to manage thoughts, emotions, as well as to build social relationships, & the aptitude to learn & to acquire an education, to ultimately enable their full active participation in society" (Mental Health Action Plan 2013). But how? What if kids & adults could openly talk about feelings?

Long-Term Impact

POP-UP Festivals have doubled in reach each year for three consecutive years. This year 1.6 million people experienced a POP-UP Festival. Volunteers report a 94% return rate year after year. POP-UP festivals are in 222 countries & territories in 3994 cities, run by 14k volunteers and 45 Mentors. Each new POP-UP event brings skills, fun and optimism to children. POP-UPs help us achieve SDG #3 by developing youth wellbeing. Powered by emotions, we build capacity to solve the other global goals!
