We will seek-out and provide nutritious food to each hungry child in 7 remote villages. We estimate a total of 300 children whom we will provide food. Our food supply will consist of rice, milk, meat, fish and vegetables. Our goal is to alleviate hunger and malnutrition and improve the chances of good mental and physical health for the child. We shall include the provision of vegetable gardening supplies so that the families will start their own gardens and secure local nutrition and income.

Challenge

Climate change and poor farming situation exacerbates hunger among children of poor families in remote villages. A hungry and malnourished child will have difficulty in learning with hunger exacting a heavy load on both mental and physical health. They are highly susceptible to illness and morbidity. Children in this situation will grow as debilitated adults, unable to contribute meaningfully to the community. This problem needs to be addressed in an urgent manner.

Long-Term Impact

Feeding a hungry child and ensuring good mental and physical health means improving their opportunities to grow as productive adults, able to continue their schooling and contribute to the general welfare of their community. We have witnessed debilitated adults as a result of poor growth when they were children and we have to change this situation.
