Girls Education International supports access to secondary education for 60 girls in various Pakistani villages. We partner with Bedari, a nonprofit based in Pakistan, to cover the costs associated with safely transporting girls from their homes in remote villages to their schools.

Challenge

Transportation is a big concern for many students and their families in remote villages in Pakistan. High costs limit access to reliable and safe transportation from rural villages to towns with secondary schools, making it difficult for girls to continue with their education. It also places a financial strain on families who seek to send their girls to school.

Long-Term Impact

A girl who completes secondary education is less likely to experience child marriage and more likely to be empowered as a decision-maker in her own life. She is also more prepared to support -- and advocate for -- the health, well-being, and education of her future children and other members of her community. By supporting 60 girls' education, this project will profoundly impact not only the lives of the girls but also their families and communities.
