On 4th November 2020 conflict between several factions and government military erupted, shelling and gunfire ensued. Warring fighters took what they needed leaving the most vulnerable without crops, livestock and / or earning power. For many their communities were destroyed, others lost their lives and have fled their homes. One million internally displaced people in Shire, Abraham's Oasis is feeding 1000. 200 unaccompanied minors are to come under our protection until life is stable for them.

Challenge

The rural communities in of Tigray have lost their means of income, livestock, grain, houses and / or shops as these were looted or destroyed due to the Tigray Crisis. One million internally displaced people are in Shire, staying in makeshift buildings. They will eventually return home, but looting has stripped them of any means of suppoort. They have nothing...

Long-Term Impact

Keep 1000 people alive until they can find strength and hope to restart their lives and to help over 500 vulnerable family units establish and run small businesses enabling them to regain their dignity and livelihood after these unfortunate events. Assist with rebuilding schools and restocking libraries in Tahtay Koraro and Shire that have been damaged or destroyed to enable children to catch up with their blighted education.
