Harassment of girls in public places, workplace and even at schools prevent them to enjoy their social life as equal humans as boys. Solution is to empower them and sports is the best way to give girls confidence and self-reliance. CPD aims to facilitate professional sports tournaments (preferably volleyball) among 16 school-age girl teams (each of 6 main and 3 reserve players) to compete, enjoy professional play, learn the standards and become brilliant example for other girls to replicate.

Challenge

Harassment of girls in public places (parks, streets, bus stops and etc.), workplace and even at schools and universities prevent them to enjoy their social life as equal humans as boys; it gradually discourage them to go outside even for urgent issues, but to be accompanied by a male family member; the ultimate result is lack of confidence, self-reliance and marginalization. Sports girls - very less in number than boys - even in doubt to play inside the schools due to harassment, need support.

Long-Term Impact

Sports play important role in empowerment of girls encouraging them to enjoy active citizenship in terms of engaging in socio-political & economical life. It prevents them from marginalization, make them feel confidence, give them bargaining power to do advocacy/lobby for their basic rights & how to protect it. 144 empowered girls per tournament will become brilliant example to others to follow their way and contribute in transforming unpleasant social norms in a positive way in favor of them.
