Region: Rwanda

The problem of Peace and Reconciliation in Rwanda stems from the 1994 genocide, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus. The country has made significant progress in rebuilding and reconciling, but deep-seated ethnic tensions and trauma continue to pose challenges to lasting peace.
