Brixton People's Kitchen will be increasing access to affordable, healthy food, as well as creating a space where people can meet and socialise, by setting up a new Community Shop and Cafe

Challenge

For the last 18 months, Lambeth residents have been without Brixton People's Kitchen after we had to close our doors due to our landlord putting up the rent to a level unsustainable for a cause like ours. While the team has been organising activities to support people where, and when, they could, we need a new spot to offer people affordable, healthy ingredients, and a place where the community can get together.

Long-Term Impact

Now more than ever, families affected by food insecurity have a lack of access to nutritious food, and often do not have the privilege to consistently choose fresh high-quality ingredients. With the continued Cost of Living challenges, and our communities having limited space to come together, it's important we give everyone access to low-cost ingredients, and a chance to meet others, with pride and dignity.
