As the violence in Ukraine continues, one million people have sought safety in neighboring countries. ActionAid is working alongside our partners to ensure that urgent needs of refugees are met, and that marginalized communities are being protected.

Challenge

Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the fighting, shelling, and airstrikes, have continued to destroy the homes and livelihoods of civilians. As a result, many have fled the conflict in order to seek refuge in neighboring countries. It is estimated that 75% of those fleeing are women and girls, who are most at risk of gender-based violence. There have also been increasing media reports of racism against Black people and people of color who are being refused access to relief.

Long-Term Impact

ActionAid's response is community-driven, women-led, and rights-based, which means your donation today invests in change that lasts. ActionAid's support provides both short-term crisis response as well as long-term resilience building.
