Ashesi University empowers young Africans with entrepreneurial skills and ethical foresight to be agents of change in their communities. All gifts are combined to support Ashesi's mission of educating ethical, entrepreneurial leaders for a new Africa. Our current funding priorities are to build more on-campus student housing, strengthen our scholarship program, invest in faculty research and development, and share our learnings with other institutions.

Challenge

Africa's educational systems, which often emphasize rote memorization, authoritarian teaching regimes, and do not encourage ethical principles, are failing to nurture the kinds of leaders who can build a brighter future. At Ashesi we cultivate within our students the critical thinking skills, the concern for others and the courage it will take to transform their continent.

Long-Term Impact

To prosper, Africa needs energized young Africans to stay and work for change. The collective Ashesi curriculum and experience results in 100% of alumni finding placement in careers, starting graduate school, or launching businesses within one year of graduation. 90% choose to stay and work for progress in Africa.
