Al-Mustafa Welfare Society aims to deliver high quality, long term care, awareness and dental treatment to underprivileged areas and non-affording populations in Pakistan. Under this project, equal or more than 20,000 patients have been treated and more than 80,000 educated under the flag of "Oral Health=Overall Health" all over PAKISTAN and Kashmir by Al-Mustafa's Dental Team. A highly sophisticated mobile dental unit makes reaching remote areas for their treatment possible.

Challenge

The majority of the adult population in Pakistan and more than half the child population has dental decay; over 80% of the people over 45 years of age have periodontal disease, and more than 20% of the population over 60 is edentulous (means all teeth are missing). Unfortunately, Pakistan has one of the highest rates of oral cancer globally. A significant chunk of the lower class is affected by bottlenecks as dentistry is seen as a luxury worldwide, and hence it is not accessible to most people.

Long-Term Impact

Al-Mustafa aspires to set up and employ pure dental Hospitals in the majority of the cities and sub-branches in rural villages, providing free/discounted and necessary dental treatments throughout. These hospitals and clinics will ensure that our hard work and passion for community work continues for a very long time.
