An opportunity to change young lives for the better through professional qualification and training. Your donation goes towards help socially vulnerable young people to attend the Comboni College, a vocational training school located in Lira in the North of Uganda. Founded and run by missionaries, it provides very practical skills and education to rural people This has a lifetime impact on the student and their family who receives scholarship funds

Challenge

Poverty is persistent in Uganda. Youth are often being denied proper education. Most schools lack basic facilities, and teachers are often absent. Even those who make it through school often lack basic skills. Vocational training is an option, but often families don't have the money to pay for tuition, food, or government test fees. In Uganda many families earn less than a USD per day, making tuition impossible to afford. Many drop in the middle of the year, as they can't pay for the next term.

Long-Term Impact

Youth passing out of the school would have received a good quality education, which would enable them to realize their full potential and become self-reliant. This education is the key to lifting them and their families out of the vicious cycle of poverty and to increase the strength of local economies further uplifting the people of Uganda.
