This project will focus on people with mental problem and how we can extend help to them. Mental illness affects people of all ages, education, income levels, and cultures; however, systemic inequalities such as racism, poverty, homelessness, discrimination, colonial and gender-based violence, among others, can worsen mental health and symptoms of mental illness, especially if mental health supports are difficult to access. Major depression affects approximately 5.4% of the Southeast population.

Challenge

One in four Nigerians suffers from mental illness, but help is hampered by tight budgets and a lack of skilled staff. Among Nigeria's healthcare woes is the emigration of its physicians. Nine out of every ten doctors in Nigeria are seeking to leave the country and find work elsewhere There are only eight federal neuropsychiatric hospitals in Nigeria. With dire budget and staffing shortfalls prompting doctors to go on strike, leave the country, or quit the medical profession.

Long-Term Impact

There is every possibility, being free of the symptoms currently facing. Without depression, anxiety, stress, and other psychological problems weighing him down,he will live his life to the fullest. better able to develop and maintain healthy relationships, and will have more time for the people in his life. Improved concentration, enhanced creativity, reduced absenteeism, increased productivity and better overall performance are all very real benefits of good mental health.
