{{Project |Description=The House of Hope in Davao, Philippines is the only cancer treatment center for children among the 20 million residents of the Mindanao region. The Center has served more than 5,000 children with various forms of cancer. Many are admitted in later stages due to the severe poverty of their families and lack of public health. This Christmas, we are bringing the healing joy of a gift exchange to 200 children who need happiness in order to heal.

Challenge

Cancer, in many forms, is increasing among children in Asia. In the Philippines, air and water quality is affected by industrial or agricultural chemicals, chronic poverty, and inadequate public health facilities. In the Mindanao region, where Christians, Muslims, and mountain tribal people live in extremely challenging conditions, the only cancer treatment facility providing low-cost medicines and treatment to the poor is the House of Hope in the City of Davao.

Long-Term Impact

This program is an international model for enhanced donor involvement and corporate social responsibility. Through survival and experiencing hope, the multi-ethnic children inspire their neighbors. Despite their daily struggles, numerous communities have been encouraged by our healing program and believe that a better life is possible. Overcoming illness requires a positive attitude. Toys, art materials, and visits by entertainers provide happiness and inspire the beauty of life.
