Two month old Baby Cara lost her mom. Washing clothes in the river, she had a seizure, fell into the water and drowned. Since then, Baby Cara has been diagnosed with acute malnutrition. Her situation is like all others, treatment begins only after paying upfront. Malnourished babies can't wait. Their survival depends on quick treatment. The urgent medical fund is there to get treatment of all illnesses started quickly for all children and adults. We need your help to do that.

Challenge

With over 50% of Kenya's population living in poverty, many families struggle to survive on $1 a day. Choosing medical help for a sick child, getting help for poor eyesight or feeding the family for the day are hard decisions, but family food wins out. Left untreated, these very treatable conditions worsen to more serious illnesses sometimes leading to death. Decreasing eyesight leads to a diminished life by limiting what people can or cannot do. Both situations can be remedied by your gifts.

Long-Term Impact

A healthier population benefits the entire community. Healthy bodies resistant to illness leads to less time missed in school for students and increased productivity in the workplace. Inexpensive tests and medications restore health and save lives, while immediate treatment for accidents and injuries allow for better, faster healing and overall improved living conditions. Giving back vision changes lives! Healthier and happier lives results from being able to see clearly...everybody wins!
