For 19 years, Rede Cidada has been working to present vulnerable youth, adults, and elderly in Brazil with new opportunities. Through life skills and technical training, we have employed more than 100,000 people who live in vulnerable conditions. Your donation will support us to expand our reach from 50 to 100 cities in Brazil, reaching thousands of more vulnerable people. For us, life and work are one value and should go together to promote professional and personal development of human beings.
Challenge
The number of Brazilians out of work reached 14.8 million in 2021, exacerbated by the pandemic, and young people are the most affected, with 31% of youth between 18-24 unemployed. The average salary of a young person is $240 per month and the poorest 10% live on less than $100. This leads to poverty and involvement in crime, leading to the death of a young Brazilian every 17 minutes. This project can provide socioemotional development for thousands of young vulnerable people to generate income.
Long-Term Impact
In the long term, the expansion of Rede Cidada to 50 more cities will provide opportunities for the professional and life development of thousands of vulnerable people, making them healthy and independent, engaged in the social development of their communities and country, and including them and their families in the economy.
