The Gail E Abrams Wildlife Ambassador Conservation Fund was established by the Piedmont Wildlife Center to help provide care & management for our educational animals. These animals now serve as ambassadors for their species, with a unique lesson to teach about how to help conserve native wildlife. All donations to this fund will be used for food, care, housing, & maintenance for PWC's Wildlife
Challenge
All of our ambassadors have permanent homes at Piedmont Wildlife Center. They each came from a rescue situation, most commonly from an owner-surrender. Our raptors were all rehabilitated after obtaining extensive injuries, but deemed non-releasable due to their inability to fly or hunt on their own. Piedmont Wildlife Center is responsible for their care, enrichment, food, housing, maintenance, and other supplies.
Long-Term Impact
In 2017, our wildlife ambassadors taught lessons at over 20 public events, and taught over 1,000 kids through school programs. Each year this number grows and we're able to reach more individuals.
