Through our Basca Mogucnosti (Garden of Possibilities) initiative, we want to establish a place of great diversity, regarding not only plants that will be growing here and creatures using them, but also concerning spontaneous and long planned gatherings as well as the creation, exchange and implementation of ideas, told jokes, spoken languages, learned lessons, relationships and thoughts that hopefully will also be growing here.
Challenge
The community of Sanski Most is facing massive unemployment problems especially with young people. Each year hundreds of young people leave the community in search of work, a community that is still re-building from war. The community has struggled in coming together after the war, and one of the reasons is there are limited gathering places for families and communities to enjoy that are not associated with the war, and for children to learn in nature.
Long-Term Impact
With the establishment of the Peace Farm in Sanski Most, through the Center for Peacebuilding the community of Sanski Most will see countless benefits. Not only will young people be able to find employment in their own community, they will be working to re-build and strengthen their country. Families and community members will have place to gather in nature, which will facilitate community growth. Children in the community will be able to learn and explore in nature, all while learning peace.
