No child should go hungry this year. With your support, the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger can continue to help kids get the nutritious food they need.
Challenge
In the U.S., 1 in 4 children live in homes where food has run short over the past year. And in Philadelphia, a city with one of the highest rates of hunger in the nation, nearly half of all children received food from a food pantry. Hunger can jeopardize a child's health and development. Hungry children are more likely to get sick and be hospitalized. They also struggle to learn in school, impeding their ability to grow into healthy, successful adults.
Long-Term Impact
A can of soup will feed a child for a meal, but a small donation can feed a family for a year. By helping more people obtain federal nutrition assistance, the Coalition ensures thousands of families can put food on their tables this year.
