Every year battered American mothers reach out to us through our crisis email in desperation trying to get back home to the USA with their children. All too often, the children are also victims of child abuse. With this project, we will be able to provide 100 hours of advocacy, safety planning, access to resources and emotional support to help keep child abuse victims like Winston safe.
Challenge
When a battered American mother seeks to flee abuse with her children, who are also often victims of child abuse, the obstacle can seem insurmountable. Without proper guidance, advocacy and resources, the possibility of success is minimal. Having an crisis email advocate available to help these victims navigate their complicated paths to safety is critical.
Long-Term Impact
Battered American mothers will have crisis email access in 2023 empowering them to find alternatives to a life of violence so their children grow up in violence free homes with their self-esteem in tact with the hope of stopping the cycle of violence in future generations.
