In Pakistan, girls have a hard time even graduating high school as in Pakistani society there is no value for girl's education because they are married off young. Muwakhat Foundation aims to specifically protect those girls who have fought their way in the society and reached university/college level. This project will help those girls who started their degree strong but due to lack of funds can no longer support their education. Having a degree can help pave a way for an independent future.
Challenge
In Pakistan, girls have a hard time even graduating high school as in Pakistani society there is no value for girl's education because they are married off young. 44% of the students are enrolled in degree programs in Pakistan. Out of these students only 27% are female. Muwakhat Foundation aims to specifically protect these girls who have fought their way through elementary, middle and high school to reach university/college level so their hard work is not wasted.
Long-Term Impact
Having a degree can help pave a way for an independent future for a girl in Pakistan. Completing last few semesters of their university will get these girls a bachelors degree. With the help of this degree, they can get jobs with good salaries in reputable companies. This will not be possible if they left their bachelors midway or just graduated from high school. With good earning, these girls can support their families and influence the society to let girls complete their education.
