The Joy Foundation aims to use education as a weapon to break through the cycle of poverty, creating opportunities for income, growth and sustainable development. At present Joy Foundation is educating more than 150 students in our district Toba Tek Singh in Pakistan. The Free School Program reaches 1,500 underprivileged children across 12 schools in Pakistan.


Challenge

Lack of quality education is a primary factor preventing poverty stricken families from opportunities of growth. Without quality education, the underprivileged are unable to unlock their full potential and end up begging on the streets.Aslem, a boy who grew up in the slums of Toba Tek Singh defied all chances. Apart of the original children that joined Joy Foundation school in 2017. After studying at a Joy Foundation school for 3 years he is now able to read and write and under the life better.

Long-Term Impact

Better education will allow Joy Foundation children to break through the poverty cycle and help support their families, allowing them to pursue better opportunities, benefiting approx 1500 others. The Free School Program gave chance to many children to access to new opportunities that they are able to utilize and completely turn their life around.
