Climate Action Now addresses the issue of climate change, by facilitating reduction in personal carbon footprint and increasing general awareness of climate change among the public, to provide a better future for everyone. This project is planting trees with a goal to 1,000,000 trees to offset carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of more than 560 UK residents for 20 years. The tree planting is done in Tropical reforestation sistes and provides employment to villagers lifting them oout of poverty.

Challenge

The Earth risks becoming largely uninhabitable because of irreversible effects of climate change; to the extent of driving certain species to extinction. Key problems faced in combating climate change are: 1) The lack of awareness of the problem amongst the general public. 2) Behaviours and consumption patterns that incrementally add to the already worsening state of the eco-system. 3) Inadequate opportunities to positively contribute or create impact towards climate change.

Long-Term Impact

This project will: 1) Plant 1,000,000 trees across continents; delivering immediate results by absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, protecting biodiversity an providing employment to poor village families. and 2) Provide educational books to 1,000 children who can in turn act as agents for further change.
