The project aims to guarantee food and nutritional security to more than 500 children that live in social vulnerability in Brazil. All donations will be used to distribute food baskets for poor families, milk and supplement for children in need, and guarantee nutritional and medical orientation for more than 300 families. This project will reach more than 1,500 people.

Challenge

The economic impact of Covid-19 aggravates hunger around the world. In a recent Brazilian study in November 2021, around 21% of children assisted by the public health system had at least three meals a day. This means that 79% of Brazilian children do not have access to a sufficient quantity of meals, nor do they have quality food. This project will we can increase the amount of healthy meals to each family ensuring an improvement in the quality of life and an improvement in child malnutrition.

Long-Term Impact

The project will contributed to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), mostly Goal 2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition. We expect to directly impact more than 1500 people, out of these 500 children at a critical age of physical and cognitive development. Futhermore, according to a study carried out by Georgetown University, the hospital readmissions fallen by 86% three to five years after they had concluded their PAF - Family Action Plan.
