Millions of Ukrainians are in the cross hairs of the world's most devastating weapons. In Ukraine, thousands of cluster bombs, artillery shells, and rockets litter the streets that can detonate at any moment. Families are left sheltering in basement and cellars. The HALO Trust has been operating in Ukraine since 2016. We have over 400 staff on the ground in Ukraine working to protect civilians from cluster bombs, landmines, and other deadly explosives, but we need your help.
Challenge
There is an urgent humanitarian need in Ukraine. As Ukrainian cities come under devastating attack, the amount of deadly explosives in the streets, the roofs of homes, and even in gardens is growing rapidly. Over 160,000 families have been left homeless or sheltering in basements and cellars.
Long-Term Impact
The dangers of the explosives used in the current fighting will linger long after the smoke clears. HALO is doing everything in our power to help families in their greatest time of need. At the same time, we are setting up new capacity to be able to clear explosives across the country as soon as there is a pause in the fighting so that humanitarian aid and services can reach those who need it most. We have the local knowledge and expertise to meet this emergency, but we need your help.
