The purpose of the Cosma is to to provide support for the orphaned, the neglected, the abandoned, the vulnerable and the homeless in HIV affected areas of the masaka region in Uganda. Through sponsorship of one child per most vulnerable family to have access to academic and vocation education opportunities that will improve their standards of living for family in future

Challenge

Mukasa Dennis was the first child to receive support from the Cosma. Orphaned in 1999, he was living alone in his parents' house at the age of six after the death of his parents. Masaka region has over 10000 cases similar to Denis's Condition, Since it is one of the districts that first caught HIV in Uganda and over 5000 children are affected with absolute poverty in their families. As a results most of the children don't attend any school and are involved in child labor.

Long-Term Impact

Cosma has a major goal to help over 1000 orphans, neglected children, and vulnerable children from poverty-stricken families. We aim to provide access to education, improve their health, and empower them to be creative and lead themselves to a bright future.
