There is a new fire outbreak along the Parana river, in Argentina, mainly in the Province of Santa Fe. The fire has already consumed more than 200 thousand hectares and approximately three new sources of fire are registered in the area daily. Our national fire brigade is intensely working on fire containment with minimal resources to intervene in this critical situation.

Challenge

For weeks, there have been isolated fires, but now weve been dealing with constant fire for over a month. The practice of grassland management has intensified in recent decades. Recently an agreement was followed to prohibit the activity, but the issue persists, and this time we face an aggravating circumstance: it is combined with the drought of the Parana River. Local authorities are also working hard to identify suspects as the fire continues to spread.

Long-Term Impact

Fire kits are considered "installed capabilities". When the firefighter leaves, the equipment used by them is kept in the brigade for others to use. The useful life of the suits surrounds the 3-year mark, but it depends on the use and conditions. Caring for the environment and the flora and fauna is a long-term commitment. Taking care of the only house we have is fundamental if we want to protect the integrity and dignity of our subjects while contributing to their development.
