This project will provide vocational training to Ugandan women in the Acholi Quarter who are striving to become self-sufficient and provide for their families' basic needs. The women choose a training course according to their interests and upon graduation, Project Have Hope provides a loan for the individual to start her own business.
Challenge
The Acholi Quarter is a vulnerable community of Ugandans who have been displaced by the civil war. These individuals experienced horrific atrocities during the war and continue to struggle to provide food, clothing, medicine and school fees for their families. They are striving to rebuild their lives. This program provides community members with the opportunity to learn new skills and establish businesses that lead to self-sufficiency.
Long-Term Impact
This project provides vocational training for fifteen women, allowing them to rise out of poverty and provide basic needs and school fees for their families.
