"Making children strong for life!" This slogan neatly sums up how "Die Arche" reaches out to support socially disadvantaged children and young people in inner cities of Germany. Every day, the children we support enjoy a free lunch, get help with their homework and have a chance to participate in meaningful after-school activities. At "Die Arche", we give children the space they need to discover their potential. We nurture their talent, encourage and facilitate educational achievement.
Challenge
More than 4.5 million children in Germany are living in financial and in many cases also emotional poverty. Their opportunities for development and education are under threat. Many of them lack self-esteem and a belief in their own future. "Die Arche" reaches out to support socially disadvantaged children and young people at support centres across Germany.
Long-Term Impact
"Die Arche" contributes to create more equal opportunities for children, regardless of social and cultural background. We provide a trustworthy contact for them and stay alongside them for the long term. Our goal: Enabling children to break out of circles of poverty! We believe: Children belong at the heart of our society. The only way to achieve that is through a shared commitment.
