For 15 years Fundacion Integrar has been offering scholarships to low-income students who seek access to higher education. In Argentina, public universities are free and open to anyone with a high school degree. However, youth from poverty-stricken families face many challenges far beyond academic issues. We provide living stipends to our students, personalized follow up, tutoring and support that complements the academic process.

Challenge

Argentina is facing a severe economic and political crisis: 60 percent of children are living in poverty, and youth employment is the highest in the Latin-American region. But, as the whole world, we are experiencing a boom in technology. This is an extraordinary opportunity, especially for young adults. However, if they lack the necessary resources to acquire technical skills and training, they can do little more than just surf the web and like and share.

Long-Term Impact

We expect technology to be a major driver of post-COVID employment, particularly in our country, stricken by a deep economic and political crisis. We are building alliances with several Argentinean firms devoted to the production of software solutions to create a network of potential employers for our graduates. We are persuaded that IntegrarTEC approach will provide the necessary opportunities for our youth to reach their full social and economic development potential.
