The aim of this Project is to assist 120 vulnerable kids, that have being dramatically affected by the COVID 19 pandemic. The income of most of these families would normally comes from non-formal jobs that during the pandemic suffered the most. Through this project, we would cover the basic needs of the kids by providing a food package every 15 days for each family. Our support will ensure that children will not end up on the streets begging for money instead of safety going to school.
Challenge
Currently in Bogota there are more than 47,000 cases of malnourishment in primary school children, who do not have access to any food for the entire day, the COVID 19 pandemic has worsened the situation. That is why various efforts have been made by both people and institutions to try to reduce this hunger rate, but it is has not been enough. By helping us to reach our goal, we will succeed by properly feeding 120 kids and their families while decreasing their schools dropout rates.
Long-Term Impact
Children need to be nourished and loved, it's important to ensure their right to grow up safely in caring and loving families. Our purpose is to support families so children go to school and stay on it. In the long term dropout rates will decrease and their well-being will increase. No children will succed at school with an empy stomach.
