The unprecedented viral pandemic hit many lives and means of livelihood hardly last year. Many people lost their means of wages and running out of daily supplies, and people lost their hopes for survival. Presently, India is grappling with a deadly COVID19 outbreak. Donations to this project will support affected communities and help them to meet immediate needs for dry ration supply, health, hygiene kit supply, and awareness generation.
Challenge
The current unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic has hit the life and means of livelihood of Approx. Five thousand families from the vulnerable section of society residing in slums and informal settlements in Agra. Due to lockdown, most of the people lost their means of wages and running out of the daily supplies. There are approx. Four thousand such daily wages labours involved in outsourced work regularly in the informal sectors.
Long-Term Impact
Once the present condition over, it will focus on sustaining longer-term rehabilitation efforts in the entire communities. * The necessities of distressed families shall be addressed along with the health and well-being counselling. *Though the intervention shall not be gender-biased, distressed girls and women shall be given prime priority. *IDF will address the health and hygiene-related issue of women/girls. * Support in the re-establishment of livelihood of local vendors.
