ActionAid is coordinating response in Kutupalong-Balukhali, the world's largest refugee camp. We provide safe spaces for women and girls, food, emergency shelter, clean water, hygiene kits, and toilets, reaching more than 73,000 refugees. Our approach is all about supporting local leadership, women's rights, and advocacy for solutions to the crisis.

Challenge

Over 700,000 Rohingya refugees have made the long and dangerous journey, fleeing Myanmar on foot to find safety in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. We know that women face particular challenges in the wake of conflict and disaster. We also know that women are powerful, and their leadership in moments of crisis transforms communities. That's why women are at the center of our humanitarian response, leading the way to a more safe and just world.

Long-Term Impact

Alongside this rapid response, we're advocating for the rights of Rohingya refugees, supporting their demands for justice and a safe and voluntary return. ActionAid has been working in the region since 2001 and is committed to supporting the Rohingya people for years to come.
