With the packs we deliver for 'better self-care' or 'return to school,' or with the awareness/information sessions on early marriages, civil rights, gender equality, or with vocational trainings; with vocational trainings helping women create sustainable change in their lives, we aim to empower women, increase their awareness of gender equality and self-reliance help them gain skills to achieve a sustainable improvement in their lives.
Challenge
Women are especially vulnerable to abuse and are among the most vulnerable members of society in post-disaster situations - and often, in daily life too. So what can we do about it? We remind them how strong and resilient they are. 3.6 million Syrian refugees living in Turkey are women and children. Girl's access to education remains a problem, young girls are susceptible to early marriages and women in general are confined to the household, unable to participate in social/professional life.
Long-Term Impact
We deliver vocational trainings that help them gain skills to achieve a sustainable improvement in their lives. Especially focusing on mothers, we deliver sessions that provide information on long-term effects of 'early marriages.' In addition, we provide empowering information with our 'civil rights' and 'gender equality' themed sessions.
