Brazil has placed almost every children and youth at school, but it still does not guarantee learning: in the Pisa exam ranking, Brazil occupies the 66th position out of 70. Todos Pela Educacao (All For Education), a main Brazilian NGOs, aims to improve Brazil, by boosting the quality and equity of Basic Education. Via advocacy and public monitoring, the goal is to make a qualitative leap in Brazilian K12 Education so that the 48.6 million Brazilian students have better opportunities for life.
Challenge
Brazil has placed almost 100% of its children and youth between 4 and 17 years old at school. Even so, faces a huge challenge: to ensure the learning of these students. Only 45% at the end of literacy have a sufficient reading level and 9% complete basic education knowing what they should in maths. In the Pisa exam, occupies 66th position out of 70. To change this scenario, we need to focus on what impacts learning. This is where Todos Pela Educacao comes in, benefiting 48.6 million children.
Long-Term Impact
By having quality education for every children and youths (elementary, middle, and high school) we will created circles of prosperity for society in a few generations. The positive impact will be seeing in the economy, in reducing crimes and violence, in increasing environmental awareness and gender equality. Nevertheless, the real beneficiaries will be each of the Brazilian kids that will have access to better quality education opportunities and learning. #EducationChangesEverything
