The Butterfly Tree, an all-volunteer organization, supports children, orphaned by the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Zambia, by providing school fees, uniforms, books and improved education facilities. Your donations make this possible.

Challenge

Every child has the right to an education, but without uniforms, shoes, books, and school exam fees, needy and orphaned children are unable to attend school. This is a particularly pressing issue in Zambia, where 2.1 children have lost their parents to AIDS/HIV related illensses. Many children live with elderly grandparents who have no source of income. Without access to education, these children have little hope for a better future.

Long-Term Impact

By supporting the education of Zambia's orphaned and needy children, The Butterfly Tree will help pave the way for a brighter future for these children and for Zambia. Many have gone on to college or university and sought employment. Some are now volunteer members of The Butterfly Tree, creating sustainability and giving back to their communities. Others, trained in skills are earning an income building schools. The educational and social benefits of education will empower them for generations.
