This project will support the development and innovation of initiatives with social impact, making possible the professionalization of non-profit organizations. This will be achieved by mentoring in five areas: strategy, management, marketing, business, technology. Through mentoring, social leaders will be able to develop high quality projects with greater social impact, increasing the likelihood of positive changes in the life of 2,000 children and teenagers in risk and vulnerable situations.
Challenge
Social inequality is one of the most serious problems in Brazil. A big portion of Brazil's population lives in poverty and, unassisted by public authority, suffers from lack of access to basic rights such as health, safety and education. Non-profit community leaders develop projects to help these children and teenagers overcome their hardship. Although these are important projects, the absence of management knowledge from social leaders reduces the social impact.
Long-Term Impact
The long term impact of these projects will be an improvement in the lives of children and teenagers living in poverty. Better training of non-profit community leaders will increase the likelihood these projects will have a beneficial impact on the future of these at-risk kids. By providing positive role models and opportunities, these projects will work to break the poverty cycle that is common for this population and give them a perspective of a better future.
