Made by local people to activate their community, each Green Map shares local knowledge of place as it empowers sustainable development and progress toward climate justice. Benefiting a remarkably diverse movement in 65 countries to date, our nonprofit provides free access as an 'open source' organization. Help us complete the build out of our new mapping platform and ensure that ever more cities, towns and partnerships benefit from our adaptable engagement, communications & wellbeing resources.
Challenge
Overcoming despair and apathy stemming from ecological decline and climate chaos, our work builds awareness of local resources and enhances capacity to make progress. Want to encourage meaningful daily actions that support climate health, technology democracy, vibrant environments and thriving communities? Bringing local solutions to light while building networks, knowledge and participation, GreenMap.org offers game-changing tools that link people with key places, pathways and resources.
Long-Term Impact
Guiding the way, each place-based Green Map made by nonprofits, youth, city agencies or everyday citizens dispels local apathy. Inspired by powerful outcomes, our tools are evolving to meet more people where they are. Designed for flexibility, our new Platform transforms existing data, utilizes local icons and includes team management and crowd-surveying tools. Unearthing local knowledge through mapmaking fosters collective action and spurs lively & sustainable community development worldwide.
