Restore Hope is raising funds for Children's Hospital Orthopedic Surgery to provide medicine, free operations and care. We are helping children having orthopedic deformities and disorders. Children from all over the Island, mainly from poor backgrounds are benefiting most. About 85,000 children under 14 years are admitted annually with another 645,000 children treated as out patients. There are long waiting lists! Sri Lanka Economic crisis is a challenge for everyone at this time.

Challenge

In Sri Lanka 70% of 48,000 admissions per annum to this hospital are related to trauma. This premier hospital we wish to support, is the ultimate referral center for Pediatric Orthopedics in Sri Lanka, and handles almost all the complicated Pediatric Orthopedic surgeries, free of charge. A new theatre has been built for these expanded Orthopedic Services, however the necessary equipment and implants are still not available to commence surgeries for affected children with complex deformities.

Long-Term Impact

The project will help our Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeons at this premier tertiary care children's hospital in Sri Lanka to help more children with deformities and disorders in a timely manner with minimal delay. It will result in supporting children to whom appropriate surgical care would either be unattainable or non-existent, to lead a long, healthy, and a productive life. So your support will give these children the opportunity to reach their full potential and be contributing citizens.
