This project will target min. 200 vulnerable children and mothers, who are traumatised, stigmatised, abused and/or socially excluded. The project uses living nature to assist healing and development through actions such as equine-therapy, art-therapy, relaxation classes, trauma informed yoga and nature-discovery activities. The project aims to empower and include the social inclusion and participation of these vulnerable children and mothers through life-time support and active participation
Challenge
Children who are suffering from abuse or neglect, having parent/s with addiction or substance abuse or with mothers who are traumatised and struggling or children with mental or physical disability are at risk of dropping out or having learning difficulties in school as well as behavioural issues, such as agression. They are at risk of suffering from lifelong stigma and social exclusion. These vulnerable mothers and children lack to opportunity to be included and empowered in society.
Long-Term Impact
Children learn and heal best through play and active participation. Mothers need to rest and heal & feel empowered. This has a life-long positive impact minimising negative experiences, challenges or trauma from childhood affecting the adulthood Life and decisions. Romi's Way invests greatly on building balanced and stimulating childhood for all children, allowing them to grow to their full potential with respect towards all forms of life, understanding of themselves and the world we are living.
