We're a small charity with big ambitions. We've got a proud track record of helping improve the detection, care and treatment of babies with serious heart conditions. We know that spotting a defect early can improve a baby's chances of survival and long-term quality of life. More than 6,000 babies are born with a serious heart defect in the UK each year, and around 1,000 of these newborns head home with no one realising their lives are in danger. We are changing that.

Challenge

We exist to improve the early detection and care of babies with serious heart conditions, giving these babies a better start in life. Heart problems are the most common congenital birth defect - affecting around one in every 125 babies. Every year in the UK, more than 6,000 babies are born with a defect so serious it requires complex heart surgery during their first year of life. We want every baby with a serious heart condition to have the best chance of survival and quality of life.

Long-Term Impact

National prenatal detection rates have doubled since Tiny Tickers was launched - and we're proud of the impact we've had. We're a small charity with big ambitions. "For a small charity we've already achieved so much, and we have big ambitions to do even more. Thanks to our wonderful supporters, we're growing - which means more training, more support for families and generally having an even bigger impact for babies with serious heart conditions." Jon, Chief Executive
