We will set up 5 community schools for 500 children in the most marginalized districts of Balochistan & Sindh where there are no primary schools for girls and have the lowest literacy rates worldwide. These will be cost effective models working on the latest educational techniques incorporating e-lessons on Single National Curriculum to be at par with the rest of the country. ALBBS aims to empower these children through literacy & essential lifelong learning skills for a brighter future.
Challenge
Pakistan is one of the lowest performing countries of the South East Asian region in terms of access to primary education, its quality and the learning outcomes. According to ASER 2021 report, of all of the provinces, learning levels are the lowest in Balochistan and Sindh. The dropout rate was recorded at a staggering 14% post pandemic because of rising inflation and loss in household income. More than 50% of all school going age children are out of school in Balochistan with Sindh at 44%.
Long-Term Impact
Primary education is the incubator for the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and innovators; it is the bedrock for development. Eventually on completion, these children will have improved literacy & numeracy skills i.e. writing, speaking, listening, and computational skills as well as essential softs skills. They can also enrol in secondary school after this. It will equip them to participate in the society, develop awareness & uplift the entire community; in short prepare them for life.
