Ensena Peru work with the Fundacion Ninos del Arcoiris's school to provide transcendental education for the students in Urubamba, Cusco. Through the leadership program of Ensena Peru, three professionals play the role of teachers of elementary school students, positively impacting the education of 75 girls and boys.
Challenge
In Urubamba, 72% of students cannot solve math problems according to their age and 51% do not understand what they read. Reflecting that, the country has an illiteracy rate of 9.9%. In addition, school dropout increased in elementary school to 3.5% and the attendance rate from 3 to 5 years in kinder decreased to 10%.
Long-Term Impact
Long- term impact: a movement of agents of changes that, through collective leadership, transforms education in Peru. Medium term impact: Student's life of Urubamba trajectories transformed to access greater opportunities. Short-Term impact: elementary school students can successfully complete the 2022 school year, increasing their knowledge and developing more skills.
