As the Japanese NGO working in conflict/disaster-affected areas for world peace since 2001, we can't ignore the victims of the crisis in Ukraine due to Russia's invasion. This project provides humanitarian relief and long-term support to affected people by the crisis in Ukraine. We need your help and stand for world peace.
Challenge
UNHCR reports that currently over 7.5 million refugees from Ukraine and about 7 million people are internally displaced. The reality of the Ukrainian refugee population is very diverse, especially in economic terms. Those who are financially vulnerable have great difficulty in traveling long distances and remaining displaced. Therefore, they are forced to remain near the Hungarian-Ukrainian border and more often in the Zakarpattya province of western Ukraine, where we are working.
Long-Term Impact
Based on the philosophy of "Each one of us has the power to create the future," we respect the independence of each refugee to the maximum extent possible and provide cash assistance in exchange for the opportunity to make a contribution to the community. This not only makes our support sustainable as people can develop their individual potential to the maximum, but also expands the impact of our support to include the host community.
