Keystone plans to provide affordable treatment and care for individuals in our community who are struggling with substance use disorders, who may not have the financial means to get the help they desperately need.
Challenge
In 2020, more than 93,000 people died of a drug overdose, which is 30% more than in 2019. South Carolina is one of ten states that is predicted to have seen at least a 40% rise in overdose deaths. 21 million Americans have a substance use disorder and sadly only 10% of them receive treatment. Aside from the stigma surrounding substance use disorders, which causes many people to shy away from seeking help, the cost of treatment hinders those in our community from getting the help that they need.
Long-Term Impact
This project will provide treatment and care for individuals struggling with substance use, allowing them to be more self-sufficient and employable individuals without the stress of worrying about how to fund treatment. Ultimately, this program will save lives!
