We give support to people with learning disabilities so they can learn, have fun and make friends. People can choose to take part in performing arts groups, like drama and singing, sports sessions, cooking, Maths and English lessons, weekly discos or just fun stuff like bowling and cinema. You can help people with learning disabilities by providing equipment like books, pots and pans, bicycles, paint and computers.

Challenge

People with a learning disability need support to do a range of everyday tasks. They are less likely to be able to access education, employment or leisure activities to those without a learning disability. It is also harder for them to make and maintain friends. Those with a learning disability can find it hard to find meaningful activities to help them maintain their sense of worth and develop their self-identity. Family members also need to work whilst ensure the safety of their loved one.

Long-Term Impact

People are able to make and maintain friendships. Being able to have time away from families, to be able to make your own choices and learn new skills while taking part in meaningful activities increases people's self-esteem and confidence and helps them create a positive self-identity. We currently have over 100 people attend weekly and with your help we will be able to increase this to benefit many more people.
