Effective anti-poaching initiatives are essential in protecting all wildlife and the natural habitats they rely on to survive. Ensuring future generations can enjoy our natural world and the incredible species that live within it. Poaching is increasing in all shapes and forms and there is no better prevention than presence. The Rhino Task Team provide preventative measures by conducting foot and vehicle patrols, road blocks, vehicle searches and observations in hot spot areas.

Challenge

The illegal wildlife trade is increasing in all shapes and forms, not only stripping the eco-system of its biodiversity and upsetting its natural balance, but it robs the local communities of their natural heritage. The Rhino Task Team, doesn't operate within one protected area, but rather between them closing the gaps in which poachers can operate and escape.

Long-Term Impact

Showing presence on reserves and within the communities will create the relationship necessary to deter poaching both on and off the reserve. Giving communities the means in which to stand up for their natural heritage. The prevention of all forms of poaching will ensure the stability of the eco-system for generations to come, thus providing further employment opportunities for local community members.
