Through this project, URDA plans to provide 400 women with the awareness and supplies needed to better understand and take care of their personal hygiene through awareness sessions and the distribution of hygiene kits.
Challenge
Due to the economic crisis in Lebanon, the prices of hygiene products have significantly increased. Given this increase in prices, women are no longer able to afford sanitary pads. Moreover, many girls and women have limited knowledge about personal hygiene and pregnancy because they have limited access to doctors or gynecologists, which puts their health and well-being in danger.
Long-Term Impact
This project has long-term effects that cannot be directly seen. Women taking care of their health, knowing about their bodies, and being aware of multiple topics related to their sexual and reproductive health will aid in maintaining women and adolescent girl's well-being among Syrian refugees, individuals of the Lebanese communities, and some other dual nationalities.
