Involuntary hunger or being hungry and not having anything to eat is becoming more common especially in remote farming villages. This is caused by climate change, unaffordable food, high inflation and expensive farming inputs making crop production poor. We appeal to mitigate food crisis by providing direct food support to poor families and we will target 250 most vulnerable families in this project. Aside from direct food aid, we will provide small livelihood support also.
Challenge
Food crisis is happening since the start of the Covid-19 crisis and this is aggravated by a confluence of negative events mainly climate change resulting to severe storms, high inflation and unreachable food prices and low crop productivity. This situation will persist as we go forward and there is a need to mitigate the crisis by providing direct food support and reviving stagnant livelihoods.
Long-Term Impact
The well-being of poor farmers especially those living in remote villages is of outmost importance for a healthy community. Stability of the villages as a result of positive contributions by local citizens is of outmost importance and there is a need to support this.
